Join with community as we connect with Spirit of Place on a guided hike with our team leader and naturalist, Caren. Take a rejuvenating and informative few hours away from your wifi and cell phones and give yourself the gift of calm, clarity and creative thinking. Rebalance your nature in Nature!

All ages, all abilities and dogs on leash are welcome.

Directions: From Victoria take the Trans Canada Highway (Highway # 1) to the Colwood turnoff. Follow the Island Highway and turn right onto 6 Mile Road. Follow 6 Mile Road to the park entrance and the main parking lot.  Allow 20 minutes travel time from Victoria.

Meet at the main parking lot.

Washrooms are available at the park facility on Thetis Lake beach.

Hike Details: We will start from the main parking lot and follow the trails that wind around upper and lower Thetis Lakes. Scenic trails through old growth forests, overlooks that offer beautiful views of the lakes, seasonal local flora and peaceful picnic spots are all there for us to enjoy. We will be stopping several times over the course of the hike for rest and snack breaks. The hiking trails are easy to moderate – not too difficult, but there may be some challenging areas.

Expect to spend approximately 2 to 3 hours on this hike, but the actual length of time spent will be determined by the pace of the participants.

What to Bring: We will take short breaks along the way over the duration of the hike, so bring a lunch or snack, bottled water, beverage, etc. Bring a walking stick and camera if desired.

Wear: Comfortable and sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather, rain or shine. Dressing in layers is recommended for this type of activity. Bring sunscreen and insect repellent when  necessary.

Note: There is NO FEE for this hike, but please contact the office by email or phone (1 250 383-1012) or see the Information table after the Sunday Gathering for further information. Let us know if you plan to join us, or you can just show up. Be on time and don’t get left behind …. see you there!
